Rockland County resident Darryl Wright, age 41, of Pearl River, was charged on Thursday, Oct. 24, with criminal possession of a controlled substance, said Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Walsh.

According to Walsh, the bust came following a six-month investigation into narcotics sales in the Town of Orangetown.

On Wednesday, Oct. 23, task force agents and the Orangetown Police Department searched Wright's Pearl River home, which resulted in the seizure of two kilos of cocaine, heroin, drug paraphernalia, and cash, Walsh said.

“This arrest sends a strong message to any individual trafficking illegal drugs in our community: you will be arrested and held accountable," Walsh said.

The Rockland County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force conducted the investigation with assistance from the Rockland County Probation Department and the Detective and Patrol Division of the Orangetown Police Department.

Wright was arraigned and remanded to the Rockland County Jail without bail.
